First Generation

First Generation

Stories from people who are the children of immigrants.

Ro(u)ted By Our Stories defines “1st generation” as children of immigrants who are born outside of the country their parents are from. For example, if someone's parents are from Grenada but that person was born in the United States, they are considered 1st generation American or Grenadian-American. This may also include people who immigrated at a young age and grew up outside of their country of birth.
